Clarification: Comics don't always have to be funny. The comic that follows, for example, is not going to be funny.
 
Comics also tell stories. They can actually be a really effective method of communication, as they combine both pictures (the right side of the brain) and words (left side). In fact, some stories are better told with comics than with any other medium.
 
It's important to me to try (maybe not to succeed, but just to try) to increase the cultural visibility of mental disorders. We often treat them as "less serious" than physical sicknesses because they can't always be seen on the outside.
